My first post.

I don't really know what to say here to be honest. I've been reading the blogs of a few other gamers (whom I'll be sure to 'follow' later), and I just figured it would motivate me to complete some of the gaming goals I'm aiming for. I'm just writing for myself really as a kind of way of tracking my progress.

The two main parts of gaming that I enjoy are playing Gears online and getting Achievements. Since Gears 2 can be a buggy, glitchy, laggy mess, it can get quite frustrating at times, to put it mildly. It's still great fun to play with mates though and after getting my rank reset at Lv.91 (losing some 5,000,000 XP at the same time...) I feel quite motivated to *finally* get my Rank 100 and the smexy silver wings that come with it. I play mostly Warzone now which has no respawns and I have about 26,000 online kills, so I'm sure I like the game enough to stick with it. I've got back to Lv.55 in the last couple weeks, inching closer to Goal Number 1, getting to 100.

The second goal is to do with Achievements, my completion % is terrible and I really want to improve it. I'm not crazy enough to go for 100%, especially with some of the downright nasty games on my card, but I think 75% should be achieveable for me. That probably doesn't sound like much to a lot of people but with my current completion at around 41% I need about 30K gamerscore to get there, without adding any new games to my card. I'm guessing it might take a while ;)

I also want to try my hand at writing reviews, especially as I've always liked writing. I'll try to make them as good as possible but considering I'll only be posting them here I doubt they'll be under severe criticism.

Gaming isn't my only hobby though, I like to play golf, which, like gaming, is a huge time and money drain (although I won't be getting any new games or golf clubs soon soon), and can also be equally frustrating and relaxing at the same time. I'm a pretty average golfer, I play off 13.2, but hopefully that'll be cut right down over the summer, especially as I was only +2 on the 9 holes I played at the weekend. Shame that here in Scotland we can only count tournament rounds towards handicaps, with the U.S system after my last few rounds I'd be playing off about 8 by now :(

Anyway, that wasn't too bad for a first post and I'll try and keep this updated, though more for my own amusement than the random internet stranger that shall chance upon my tiny corner of the internet.
